Event description
The goal of the
Speaker Series is to discuss Hungary’s role in the
North-Atlantic
Alliance with
a special focus on Afghanistan. The speakers will share their firsthand
experience from Afghanistan and will bring the dilemmas of
Hungary’s role
closer to the audience.
The Speaker series is
designed to attract university students, young professionals and
experts who
are interested in the topic. Furthermore, the goal is to bring together
the
Hungarian alumni community of the International Visitors Program,
supported by
the US State Department.
The speakers will be
exclusively IVLP alumni members or participants in a NATO tour. Speakers
on Afghanistan will be journalists
who travelled to Afghanistan with the NATO Tour, military officials and
security experts.

Dean Rich Lyons, best-selling author Henry Chesbrough, U.S. Ambassador to Hungary and MBA ’92 alumna Eleni Kounalakis, and other notable business leaders share their unique insights, providing you with business solutions.
BS 82 Dean Rich Lyons will share his thoughts on “Path-bending Leadership for the 21st Century” and reconnect you to Berkeley-Haas. Professor Henry Chesbrough, PhD 97, Director of Haas’ Center for Open Innovation and author of the recently published Open Services Innovation: Rethinking Your Business to Grow and Compete in a New Era, will share his pioneering ideas and show how to escape the product commodity trap and compete at a higher level. Ambassador Kounalakis will describe the business environment in Hungary and the role innovation plays in the country’s transformation.
